1. What We Do

PhishCurry is a free scam and phishing detection service. You paste suspicious content (URLs, messages, phone numbers, emails) and we return a trust score. No account or login is required.

2. Information We Collect

We collect only the content you submit for analysis. We store a one-way cryptographic hash (SHA-256) of submitted content to power community scam reporting. This hash cannot be reversed to recover the original content.

We do not collect your name, email address, IP address, phone number, or any personally identifiable information.

3. How We Use Your Data

Submitted content is used solely to:

  • Generate a scam/phishing trust score
  • Improve community scam detection accuracy

We do not sell, rent, or share your data with third parties for marketing purposes.

4. Third-Party Services

To analyse content, we send data to the following threat intelligence APIs:

  • Google Safe Browsing
  • IPQualityScore (IPQS)
  • URLhaus (abuse.ch)

Each service has its own privacy policy. We send only the specific content required for analysis (e.g., a URL or phone number) — never your personal information.

4a. Deepfake Detection

When you use the Deepfake Detection feature, your uploaded image is processed on our servers using an on-device AI classifier. Images are not sent to any third-party service and are not stored after analysis is complete.

5. WhatsApp Bot

If you interact with our WhatsApp bot, your WhatsApp phone number is used only to send you the analysis reply. We do not store your WhatsApp number or link it to your submissions.

6. Data Retention

Content hashes are retained for community scam reporting. Raw submitted content is not persistently stored after analysis is complete.

7. Cookies

We use localStorage only to remember your dark/light mode preference. No tracking cookies are used.

8. Children

PhishCurry is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

9. Changes

We may update this policy occasionally. The date at the top of this page reflects the latest revision.
